Our First Anniversary!

Well this time last year, we were in paradise...on our honeymoon in Mexico. Geez, what I wouldn't give to be back there right now! (Well...without that whole threat of swine flu thing.) Our actual anniversary was Sunday, but unfortunately I had to work the whole weekend, and Jason had to leave to be in Atlanta for work on Sunday afternoon. So on our anniversary we only saw each other for a few minutes when we woke up. Not exactly what I had envisioned our first anniversary to be like!

So rewind to Saturday night. I found out a few months ago that Coldplay (which happens to be one of Jason's all time favorite bands) was playing here in Nashville on June 6th. I knew right away that would be the perfect anniversary present! We've had our tickets for months and have been not-so-patiently waiting for the concert. It was totally worth the wait. Coldplay definitely sets the bar high. We had a magical night being captivated by Chris Martin and his boys. It was the perfect way to ring in our first year!

The traditional first anniversary present is paper, so here we are with our "paper" tickets. Jason also cheated and surprised me with a MacBook. :) Last I checked a computer is not in one of the categories for anniversary presents...but who am I to argue? I'll gladly take it! Thanks babe!!

It's Been a While

So it's been a while since I've posted anything and I just thought I would post what I've been doing.  We have a new puppy (A Mini Aussie Shepherd) and he is adorable but really crazy.  He loves to run and has almost to much energy.  To help kill the energy, I've been doing it like Cesar Milan and taking him rollerblading.  This helps get his energy out and it is better than me running because I can't really run very far without feeling faint.

I've also just been fiddling around with my computers.  I took my Windows Vista HP laptop and partitioned off the hard drive and installed the Windows 7 Beta on the partition.  It was pretty interesting and worked really well.  I'm really liking Windows 7 and Microsoft could have something.  I have heard they are going to have over 6 versions of Windows 7 (like basic, home premium, business, ect).  While I understand that they are known for this, why can't they take a page from Apples book and just over 3 versions, a Basic, a Home and a Business version.  Keep it simple and they might actually sell more copies of the operating system.  All of that aside, this version of Windows runs very well.  It is snappy, hasn't crashed on me yet and the boot up and shut down speeds are much faster.  Overall, Windows 7 was an easy install, it loaded all of my drivers and was ready to use in under 45 min.  This version seems to manage the available memory better too.  

With all that said, I'm not sure that I'll be running out to by a Windows 7 machine anytime soon, I love my Mac to much.

Speaking of my Mac, The wife and I share a MacBook with an 80 gig hard drive.  Needless to say, this causes frustration on my part because I was having to keep all of my movies, TV shows and photos on an external hard drive.  After downloading the first season of Burn Notice, I only had 1 gig of space left on a 120 gig external drive.  I decided to start a project and upgrade my internal MacBook drive.  It was easier than I expected it to be.  I purchased a 500 gig from BestBuy and took the old drive out, screwed the new drive in, inserted the OS X install disk, formated the new 500 Gig drive using the install disk and installed Leopard.  Within an hour I was up and running, Loaded all of my content on the internal drive and now I'm set!!  I was very surprised at how easy this was, I have now purchased more RAM for the MacBook to help extend its life a bit longer.

Well thats what I've been up to, borrowing I know, but if you like playing with computers it was a blast.  

A Haunted Tour of Nashville, TN

Lindsey and I (Along with our friends Andy and Sara) took a Haunted Ghost tour of downtown Nashville for Halloween (Nashville Ghost Tours).  It was pretty fun and a bit more historical than scary.  These are pictures from Printers Alley where David "Skull" Shulman owned the Rainbow Room.  Skull's who appeared on the TV Show Hee Haw.  Skull's was Rainbow Room now owned by the club next door, but it is said to be to be haunted by the ghost of Skull's and one of his killers.  Employees from the club next door say they can feel a presence in the room and some have even said they could hear boot steps walking across the stage.

We didn't get to go inside but this was probably my favorite story of the night.  Our tour took us from the Hermitage Hotel to the State Capital Building, down to the oldest church in Nashville, over to Printers Alley, and our tour ended at the Ryman Auditorium.  This was a very interesting tour and I would recommend it to anyone looking to learn about the history of Nashville.

This was pretty simple to make, expect for the fact that I had to sort through 2,000 photos to create this.  I got this idea from a friend who was looking at my wedding photos and was scrolling through them so fast that it looked like a movie.

Lunch at Loveless Cafe

I had the great idea of going to brunch at Loveless Cafe. I thought we could beat the lunch crowd by going before church let out. We beat the lunch crowd, but there was still an hour and half wait. Oh well, our brunch turned into lunch.
